West Side Animal League

Approximately 4 million adoptable dogs & cats are killed each year due to overpopulation. We have many wonderful mixed breed pets that make wonderful companions. If you have your heart set on a specific breed, before you check out a dog breeder or pet store, why not adopt a pet from a breed rescue organization? Breed rescues are groups that specialize in a particular breed of dog or cat. Any homeless animal that you can bring into your family from a rescue or shelter, is truly a life saved.

West Side Animal League

25-30% of adoptable dogs are purebred. The other 70-75% are lovable, mixed-breeds, just waiting to be your perfect new friend.

In an effort to help people make good choices when adopting a dog or cat, many humane societies, SPCAs and pet rescues provide adoption counseling to help match you up with the perfect.

West Side Animal League is a volunteer organization that supports pets from various Fort Worth area shelters, as well as some we acquire along the way, in an effort to keep them from being placed in a shelter environment.

We strive to accomplish the goal of helping unwanted and homeless pets find loving forever homes by raising public awareness of the many wonderful pets available from local shelters, the urgent need to spay or neuter all family pets, by bringing these animals into our homes as foster pets to work on training and socialization, and hosting public awareness and adoption events.

We also provide vaccinations, micro-chipping and alters for all animals in our program as well as emergency medical care (as funds are available). Our expenses are covered 100% from donations and adoption fees for the animals that we adopt out.

We are only able to accomplish our goal through the generosity of both time and money from supporters who also want to make the world a better place for our furry friends.
